Norway's Arctic North
The Lofoten Islands are one of the most accessible places within the Arctic Circle, and as such offers us an incredible opportunity to photograph this wild and spectacular landscape.
The archipelago consists of several islands, with the main ones being Austvågøy, Vestvågøy, Flakstadøy, Moskenesøy, and several smaller islets.
We will be based in Ramberg, the capital of Flakstad for the duration of our photography workshop. Ramberg is ideally situated close to many of the beautiful locations we will be visiting.
Breathtaking mountain views
The Lofoten Islands are packed with towering mountains, deep fjords, white-sand beaches, and crystal-clear waters offering lovely reflections of the scenery and light at sunrise or sunset.
We will shoot each day from dawn to dusk taking breaks in between whilst maximising our time in Lofoten.
Stunning seascapes
The coastline is dotted with some of the loveliest and most pristine beaches and clear turquoise waters. These locations provide excellent opportunities for seascapes and long-exposure shots.
One beach we will visit is Skagsanden, which has become an iconic beach on the Lofoten islands. The beach is known for its unique patterns from the rivers running into the ocean and the black sand which mixes with the white sand)
Northern Lights
With the right weather conditions, each night offers the opportunity to witness the phenomenol Aurora Borealis; aka Northern Lights. At the right time of year, Lofoten offers great potential to capture nature’s beautiful show of dancing lights. Lofoten, with its unspoilt Arctic scenery, is a photographer’s dream.
