Had a fantastic Trip to Lofoten Norway with Rodney O Callaghan Photography. Rodney ensured we got to all the fantastic locations in Lofoten in the right time to give us the opportunity to photograph this wonderful landscape in all its beauty. We were lucky enough to get great great light to add to this wonderful experience. All the photographers on the trip had great laughs and really got on so well together. Rodney looked after everyone so well and was a pleasure to deal with. I would highly recommend Rodney and I would like to wish him well for his tours the rest of the year.

Just returned from my third photography holiday with Rodney, have a 4th one booked and 5th one planned. Really enjoy my time on these trips which offer a judgement free zone to be creative, and a like minded community that will not complain when you use every opportunity to take pictures (unlike friends and family might 🤫). Currently going through pictures from our trip to Lewis and Harris in the Outer Hebrides and as much as it was a long journey there and back it was well worth it. I can see a lot of improvement in my photography since my first trip and might start adding landscape photography to my repertoire which it wasn’t really before, but the trips have most certainly inspired that and have grown my confidence immensely. The Outer Hebrides were my favourite location so far as it not only offers amazing opportunities to take pictures - it has an incredible energy that allows you to forget the stress and worries you may have left behind at home. I would have happily spent another week (or year). Rodney is good company and there’s always time for a laugh. He also has an annoyingly good eye in seeing where there is opportunity for a good picture, which makes me a wee bit jealous I just say, but also makes me want to return again to learn from him, as he has a wealth of knowledge to offer in the field. Would highly recommend Rodney O’Callaghan Photography’s tours 😊

This was my 2nd trip with Rodney and it didn't disappoint. His photo venues are well researched and you just have to get up early and hop on the people carrier.. No stress involved. Rodney's has a friendly, considerate approach and will ensure you get the advice you need to help with composition and technical issues. All levels of expertise catered for. Great trip great group lots of laughs along the way. Looking forward to booking again in the future.

I have been on many of Rodney's workshops over the years and each of them have been excellent. This is due to Rodneys attention to detail in organising the trips, to his wonderful knowledge of the designated locations we are visiting and to his expertise in all areas of photography. He is an excellent mentor and he gives individual attention to everyone on the trip regardless of whether a novice or a more advanced photographer. His love of photography and his perceptive observation of the surrounding landscape is contagious resulting in everyone enjoying the trip and coming home with some great shots as well as great memories and enhanced skills. I would highly recommend experiencing one of Rodney's Workshops
Flakstad, Loften Islands, Norway. Taken on my Lofoten photography workshops and tours.

Norway's Arctic North

The Lofoten Islands are one of the most accessible places within the Arctic Circle, and as such offers us an incredible opportunity to photograph this wild and spectacular landscape.

The archipelago consists of several islands, with the main ones being Austvågøy, Vestvågøy, Flakstadøy, Moskenesøy, and several smaller islets.

We will be based in Ramberg, the capital of Flakstad for the duration of our photography workshop. Ramberg is ideally situated close to many of the beautiful locations we will be visiting.

Breathtaking mountain views

The Lofoten Islands are packed with towering mountains, deep fjords, white-sand beaches, and crystal-clear waters offering lovely reflections of the scenery and light at sunrise or sunset.

We will shoot each day from dawn to dusk taking breaks in between whilst maximising our time in Lofoten.

Stunning seascapes

The coastline is dotted with some of the loveliest and most pristine beaches and clear turquoise waters. These locations provide excellent opportunities for seascapes and long-exposure shots.

One beach we will visit is Skagsanden, which has become an iconic beach on the Lofoten islands. The beach is known for its unique patterns from the rivers running into the ocean and the black sand which mixes with the white sand)

Northern Lights

With the right weather conditions, each night offers the opportunity to witness the phenomenol Aurora Borealis; aka Northern Lights. At the right time of year, Lofoten offers great potential to capture nature’s beautiful show of dancing lights. Lofoten, with its unspoilt Arctic scenery, is a photographer’s dream.
