Join us in January 2025 on the second of two workshops to explore the beautiful City of Venice, a true paradise for photography. We will visit many of the iconic locations Venice has to offer, as well as exploring some of the less known areas. We will not only explore this beautiful city from the streets but also on the waters.
January is an ideal time to visit and photograph Venice: a time of year less crowded with tourists. Offering the opportunity to discover a more authentic Venice.
Accommodation for the workshop, which is included in the price, is at the beautiful Hotel Canaletto. This is an ideal location for our base, just 5 minutes from the Rialto Bridge And St. Mark’s Square.
As you will be in one of the most magical and unique cities in the world, I will ensure you make the very best of your time. Each day will be about maximising opportunities to capture all Venice has to offer. The majority of this workshop will be on foot, so fitness level should be moderate.
With this in mind, following arrival, we will begin each day with a sunrise shoot. After the morning session we will return to our hotel for breakfast. Following some downtime, we will head out to explore the city further until we break for lunch. After lunch there will be a short break after which we will continue our session. The day will continue until after sunset, offering as much opportunity to photograph in different conditions and settings as possible.
On either the second or third day of the workshop, once everyone is acclimatised to Venice, we will make a day trip to the wonderful city of Burano. Burano is considered to be among the top 10 most colourful cities in the world. A wealth of further photo opportunities await in this exciting city, with its colourful houses that are reflected in the green waters of the adjacent canals, the leaning bell tower and balconies with multicoloured flowers.
A minimum of 4 participants are required for this workshop to go ahead. In the event the minimum is not met and the workshop does not proceed, all payments (deposits & Early Bird) will be refunded. It is not advisable to book flights until you receive confirmation from us of the workshop, as flight costs will not be refunded.
There will be a pre-workshop Zoom session for all participants. This will be an opportunity learn more about what you can expect on the workshop.
The workshop begins at 4pm on Monday the 20th of January, with a meeting of participants in the lobby of hotel Canaletto. Check-in is available at the hotel from 1pm (info as per hotel website – may be subject to change), which will allow time for people to arrive and get settled before meeting up. On meeting there will be introductions and the agenda for the following days will be outlined. We will then have dinner before heading out for our first shoot of the workshop, where we will capture the charm of Venice by night.
The workshop finishes on Friday January 24th after a morning shoot. Approx 10AM
