My 2025 workshops to date
As we move further into 2025, I wanted to take a moment to reflect in this article, on the amazing workshops I’ve had the pleasure of running so far this year, before looking forward to what’s on the horizon in the coming months!
As a photographer who runs workshops and tours around the globe, my passion lies in sharing not only my love for photography but also the breathtaking international locations that inspire it. Each workshop group I work with is unique, bringing its own distinct energy and creativity to the experience. Whether we’re wandering through the romantic canals of Venice, capturing the serene beauty of Slovenia’s winter landscapes, or exploring the vibrant streets of Marrakesh, I am continually amazed by how each participant interprets their surroundings through their lens.
It’s a privilege to be part of their photographic journeys, witnessing the growth and transformation that occurs as they learn to see the world in new and exciting ways. I thrive on the collaborative spirit that emerges in these workshops, where ideas are exchanged, techniques are honed, and friendships are formed—all while we capture stunning images together. Being able to guide others in discovering their own artistic voice and helping them create lasting memories through photography is truly what fuels my passion and keeps me excited for each new adventure.
Venice: A Timeless Muse
I kicked off the year with two fantastic workshops in Venice. This city is a photographer’s dream, with its beautiful canals, stunning historic architecture, and vibrant local life, it inspires creativity and artistry in every shot. There’s just something magical about capturing the light dancing on the water of this iconic city.

Winter Magic in Slovenia
At the end of January, I traveled to Slovenia. This little alpine country offers some remarkable scenery for photographers to explore. Add to that an array of lovely little churches sitting on hilltops or poking through the mist with mountain vistas behind, and you have everything you need for a week of fabulous landscape photography.

Northumberland's Natural Beauty
In February, I headed to the UK for my Northumberland workshop. My photo workshop here explored iconic locations such as Holy Island, Bamburgh Castle, Dunstanburgh Castle and Saint Mary’s Lighthouse at Whitley Bay. The array of castles and lighthouses along the Northumberland Coast is breathtaking and provided dramatic focal points. Always a wonderful location to add to your portfolio of seascapes.

Moroccan Adventure
Later in February, I ventured to Morocco, and wow, what an experience! It had been a number of years since I had travelled to Morocco, pre Covid in fact and it was fantastic to get back there. From the vibrant streets of Marrakesh to the stunning Sahara, the photographic opportunities were endless. We even took a hot air balloon ride, capturing the breathtaking views below while soaking in the rich culture and delicious food. I am looking forward to my 2026 return already!

Scotland's Isles of Lewis and Harris
March brought me to the stunning Isles of Lewis and Harris in Scotland. The dramatic landscapes, ancient stone circles, and pristine beaches provided endless inspiration. The unique light and rugged terrain found here, make it a paradise for photographers. For me, few other locations embody the wild beauty and spirit of Scotland more than here.

Exploring London by Black Cab
We wrapped up March with a unique Black Cab photo tour of London, in collaboration with my friend and colleague, photographer Terry Gibbins. Exploring the iconic city from the comfort of his classic black cab offered a fresh perspective on London’s vibrant street life and architectural marvels. A unique and fun experience for all, everyone agreed they saw London through a new lens (pun intended!).

Tuscany: A Photographer's Paradise
At the beginning of April, I spent two amazing weeks in Tuscany. The rolling hills, vineyards, and charming villages created the perfect backdrop for capturing the essence of Italian beauty. As always, the warmth of the Italian culture, combined with the stunning scenery, created an unforgettable experience for all my workshop participants.

Right now, I’m taking a little breather to recharge my batteries—not just for my camera, but for myself too! My next outing will be guiding a group of international photographers in Ireland this May, where we’ll explore the beauty of Kerry for 10 days.
Looking ahead, I am very excited about my upcoming workshop in Namibia! I can’t wait to experience firsthand the iconic photography locations this stunning country has to offer, including the haunting beauty of the abandoned mining village of Kolmanskop and the breathtaking landscapes of the Namib Desert. This will be my final workshop before my summer break, and I will be back in September for our Brittany workshop.
Thank you to all of you who have joined me this year so far on this amazing journey. I can’t wait to capture more beautiful moments with you guys in the months ahead!
If you would like to be part of one of my workshops have a look on my page for available places on upcoming dates.
Warm regards
